How to make this easy Paper Octopus with your kids!

Looking for a fun summer activity? Try making easy octopus paper crafts with your kids. All you need are colored cardstocks, safe scissors, gluesticks, and plastic eyes for a creative and engaging craft.

Adults should supervise all art & craft play activities at all times. Some materials used in these activities are small and can pose a choking hazard to toddlers. Please ensure your child’s safety by closely monitoring their play.

Summer is fast approaching, and we are looking for many activities for our little ones to enjoy at home. Paper crafting is a popular activity in our household. Creating an easy octopus papercraft is a fun and creative activity for kids. Children can easily make their adorable octopus using simple materials like paper, glue, and markers. This craft is perfect for keeping kids entertained during the summer, or anytime they need a fun indoor activity.

What will you need?

-Some colored cardstocks – this pack includes 100 sheets in many colors.

For Safety, I recommend using these Fiskars scissors. They’re designed with blunt edges, making them safe for young kids. This way, you can feel reassured while your child enjoys the craft.

– Gluesticks

Plastic eyes for crafts. This makes the animals look more lively.

So let’s get making!

1. If your paper is A4 size, it is recommended that you cut it in half so the octopuses are small and easy for your little ones to make.

2. Roll the paper into tubes and glue them on the end (like photos)

3. Cut the tubes into strips (you can mark the tubes in half first and let your little ones do the cutting)

4. Curl each strip with a pen (tips: hold them tight for a while so the strips can curl up nicely like tentacles)

5. Finally, add plastic eyes and draw their mouth and cheeks.

And done!!! These octopuses are super cute and take less than an hour to make. Encourage your little ones to repeat making them in many colors. This activity will enhance their creativity and cutting skills.
